One thing I see a lot of businesses confuse is marketing versus selling.
Selling is asking for the order.
Marketing is everything you do before that moment.
Marketing is how you stay in touch with people, warm up your audience, and create multiple touch points so that when someone needs what you offer, you are the first person they think of.
If the only time you reach out is to sell something, you start to feel like an annoying pest instead of a welcome guest.
Good marketing keeps you present without being pushy.
Sometimes that means sending a thank-you card.
Sometimes it means sharing helpful information.
Sometimes it means sending something fun—stickers, samples, or a small gift.
